It’s all about the music

At Adeleshow we use some of the latest technology to produce the best live performances. Firstly when we mix our music we use a digital mixer, this is where the inputs and outputs are analogue as they have been forever but the buttons and controls are via a computer or iPad screen.

We use the Soundcraft Ui24R as pictured here.

When we mix the panel looks like this on our screens.

This gives the band lots of options. In the past to have a 24 channel desk plus all the effects, compressors and now we have feedback elimination, each would have to be a seperate device. We also have self powered speakers that have the amps inside so this also minimises the space needed. It is far more convenient.

We have also added something very new to bands – an in ear monitor system over wifi. How this works is the band has to hear themselves on stage to make sure they are playing and singing their best. In the past this meant many speakers on stage pointed at the musician.

We see this often nowadays where a performer has an earpiece.

This has been around for many years and the systems can be expensive.

At Adeleshow we will be using a mix of both – stage monitors for Michelle (Adele) and in ear for everyone else.

The big and new technology we are using is the signal is coming via wifi and directly to our phones and we all simply use a pair of earphones to get our own personal mix.

Bluetooth is a technology often used in wireless earphones but it wont work in this case as there is too much latency (time between the sounds being created and heard) any slight delay can be off putting.
